Dubai Police support the ‘Donate Your Own Device’ campaign
شرطة دبي تدعم حملة "تبرع بجهازك"
The General Command of Dubai Police has announced a commitment to provide 7,000 electronic devices over three years as part of the ‘Donate Your Own Device’ campaign launched by the Digital School, an initiative of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. The campaign aims to collect used devices from individuals and institutions, refurbish them according to best practices, and distribute them to less fortunate students worldwide to help them access better educational opportunities.
Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, emphasized that Dubai Police’s participation in the campaign embodies the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, who said, ‘Digital learning is the education of the future and the future of education.’ Dr. Waleed Al Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, highlighted the importance of national partnerships and the role of UAE government and community entities in supporting the Digital School’s initiatives and contributing effectively to providing educational solutions and opportunities for students everywhere. He praised the active community role of Dubai Police and their consistent involvement in national and global humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting students and disadvantaged communities, which reinforces the UAE’s leadership in humanitarian fields closely related to the lives of communities and the future of upcoming generations.
Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Youssef Al Mansouri, Deputy Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, commended the noble goals of the ‘Donate Your Device’ campaign, which seeks to involve the largest number of institutions and entities in both public and private sectors in supporting students with 10,000 electronic devices through donations of surplus and used computers and electronic devices. He affirmed that participation in the campaign reflects the humanitarian sentiment toward supporting those in need, in line with Islamic values and Emirati customs and traditions.
Colonel Dr. Saud Faisal Al Rumaithi, Director of the Security Awareness Department, explained that the campaign aimed to bridge the gap caused by digital inequality by providing used devices to needy students worldwide. He mentioned that the task forces organized workshops and lectures to raise awareness of the importance of participating in the campaign, in addition to internal marketing through various communication channels. Employees, students of the Dubai Police Academy, and students of Hemaya Schools for Education participated through device collection points distributed across the general department headquarters and police stations.
أعلنت القيادة العامة لشرطة دبي عن التعهد لتقديم 7000 جهاز إلكتروني على مدار ثلاثة أعوام، ضمن حملة “تبرع بجهازك” التي أطلقتها المدرسة الرقمية، إحدى مبادرات محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم العالمية، بهدف توفير الأجهزة المُستعملة من الأفراد والمؤسسات، وإعادة تجديدها وفق أفضل الممارسات، وتوزيعها على الطلبة الأقل حظاً حول العالم من أجل مساعدتهم على الحصول على أفضل الفرص التعليمية.
وأكد العميد علي خلفان المنصوري، مدير الإدارة العامة لإسعاد المجتمع، أن مشاركة شرطة دبي في الحملة تأتي تجسيدا لمقولة صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي رعاه الله، ” أن التعلم الرقمي هو تعليم المستقبل ومستقبل التعليم”، من جهته، أكد الدكتور وليد آل علي، أمين عام المدرسة الرقمية، أهمية الشراكات الوطنية ودور الجهات الحكومية والمجتمعية في دولة الإمارات في دعم مبادرات المدرسة الرقمية، والمساهمة الفاعلة في توفير حلول وفرص التعليم للطلاب في كل مكان في العالم، مشيداً بالدور المجتمعي الفاعل لشرطة دبي، وبحرصها الدائم على المشاركة في المبادرات الوطنية والإنسانية العالمية الهادفة لدعم الطلاب والمجتمعات الأقل حظاً، والتي تسهم في تعزيز ريادة دولة الإمارات في المجالات الإنسانية الأكثر ارتباطاً بحياة المجتمعات ومستقبل الأجيال القادمة.
و أشاد العميد الدكتور أحمد يوسف المنصوري، نائب مدير الإدارة العامة لإسعاد المجتمع بالوكالة، بالأهداف السامية لحملة “تبرع بجهازك” الساعية إلى إشراك أكبر عدد من المؤسسات والهيئات في القطاعين والحكومي والخاص، لدعم الطلاب بعشرة آلاف جهاز إلكتروني، من خلال التبرع بالفائض والمستعمل من أجهزة الحاسوب والأجهزة الإلكترونية، مؤكداً أن المشاركة في الحملة تعكس مدى الحس الإنساني نحو مساندة ودعم المحتاجين عملاً بالقيم الإسلامية والعادات والتقاليد في المجتمع الإماراتي.
من جهته، أوضح العقيد الدكتور سعود فيصل الرميثي، مدير إدارة التوعية الأمنية، أن الحملة هدفت إلى تقليص الفجوة الناجمة عن عوائق التكافؤ الرقمي عن طريق منح الأجهزة المستعملة للطلاب المحتاجين حول العالم، مشيرا إلى أن فرق العمل قامت بتنظيم ورش ومحاضرات لنشر التوعية بأهمية المشاركة في الحملة، إلى جانب التسويق الداخلي في قنوات التواصل المختلفة، وشارك الموظفون، وطلاب وطالبات أكاديمية شرطة دبي، ومدارس حماية للتربية والتعليم، من خلال نقاط تجميع الأجهزة الموزعة في مقرات الإدارات العامة ومراكز الشرطة.
