Stanford Social Innovation Review features Digital School initiative as distinctive global initiative in education
جامعة ستانفورد الأمريكية تحتفي بالمدرسة الرقمية لتوفيرها تجربة تعلم رقمي متقدمة
The Stanford Social Innovation Review at Stanford University, USA, celebrated the “Digital School”, one of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), as part of a special edition featuring the best initiatives in the world that aim to achieve equitable access to the health, life, education and the environment sectors.
This recognition marks a new international achievement for the initiative and pinpoints the UAE’s leadership in providing innovative solutions to global challenges. The Digital School was chosen for its leading role in employing technology to remove barriers and provide an advanced digital learning experience to students in less fortunate areas worldwide.
Dr. Waleed Al Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, stated that highlighting the experience of the Digital School through the Stanford Social Innovation Review, and publishing its success story in 5 international languages, confirms the strong impact of the Emirati initiative on future generations in various regions of the world, and its role in providing digital learning opportunities that can help children gain knowledge and skills, overcoming the challenges of geography and the lack of access to educational resources.
“The Stanford Social Innovation Review introduced the innovative model of the Digital School to its readers around the world, and highlighted its added value in spreading education and ensuring equal access to its resources for the less fortunate around the world,” Al Ali added.
The Stanford Social Innovation Review is a prominent scientific journal that reviews the most impactful innovative social initiatives that contribute to changing the world. It features significant initiatives in the main development fields such as education, health, environment, and life. Its credible scientific methodology relies on academic standards in research, documentation, and presentation, catering to professionals and people working in the charity and social innovation fields.
Choosing the Digital School came within the global platform efforts to select the best global initiatives that aim to ensure equitable access to the health, life, education and the environment sectors. It is part of a global series followed by hundreds of thousands of decision-makers and published for the first time in five languages, covering social innovation, sustainability, and governance initiatives.
Stanford published the issue entitled “The Global Pursuit of Equity” in Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese and English. The issue, which took 8 months of work, introduced successful experiences that provide fair opportunities to individuals in several regions of the world, by applying innovative solutions to achieve equal access to education, technology and other vital fields.
The Digital School article was published in the Arabic version of the Stanford Social Innovation Review, under the theme “The Digital School: An Emirati initiative to Provide High-quality education to students in the region.” The topic was also published in English, Brazilian, Spanish, and Chinese.
The report provides a comprehensive view of the innovative initiatives, such as the Digital School, and their effective role in bridging educational gaps and empowering the less fortunate groups in society. It discusses the innovative model presented by the UAE to the world, reflecting the UAE’s keenness to achieve one of the global SDGs, namely education, and build a future that embraces diversity, enhances equitable access to educational and technological resources, and drives positive change.
The “Digital School”, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in November 2020 within the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, is the first integrated digitally-enabled school. It aims to empower students in areas that do not have the appropriate conditions for education with digital learning options. It also provides digital and hybrid learning in a smart and flexible way, targeting refugees and underserved students, through modern educational material and curricula.
The Digital School adopts a comprehensive approach to digital transformation in education, based on providing digital learning options, especially in remote and developing areas. The school continues to expand, with more than 160,000 students in more than 13 countries. It has also trained more than 2,500 digital teachers, while providing educational and training content in many languages, including Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
احتفت منصة ستانفورد للابتكار الاجتماعي في جامعة ستانفورد في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية “Stanford Social Innovation Review”، بـ “المدرسة الرقمية” ، إحدى مبادرات محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم العالمية، ضمن إصدار خاص لأفضل المبادرات على مستوى العالم في تحقيق العدالة في قطاعات الصحة والحياة والتعليم والبيئة، ما يمثل إنجازاً دولياً جديداً يعزز ريادة الإمارات في تقديم حلول مبتكرة للتحديات العالمية.
واختارت مجلة ستانفورد للابتكار الاجتماعي، المدرسة الرقمية، المبادرة العالمية المتميزة في قطاع “التعليم”، لدورها الريادي في توظيف التكنولوجيا لإزالة الحواجز وتوفير تجربة تعلم رقمي متقدمة لتمكين الطلاب في المناطق الأقل حظاً في مختلف أنحاء العالم.
وأكد الدكتور وليد آل علي أمين عام المدرسة الرقمية أن اختيار المدرسة لتسليط الضوء على تجربتها عبر منصة مجلة جامعة ستانفورد، ونشر قصة نجاحها بـ 5 لغات عالمية، يعزز الأثر الكبير والملموس لهذه المبادرة الإماراتية على أجيال المستقبل في مختلف مناطق العالم، ودورها في إتاحة فرص تعلم رقمي يمكنها من اكتساب المعارف والمهارات، ويتجاوز تحديات الجغرافيا وانعدام القدرة على الوصول لمصادر التعليم.
وقال آل علي إن المنصة عرّفت قراءها حول العالم بالنموذج المبتكر الذي للمدرسة الرقمية، والقيمة المضافة التي تشكلها في نشر التعليم وضمان عدالة فرص الوصول إلى مصادره للفئات الأقل حظاً في العالم.
وتعد منصة جامعة ستانفورد للابتكار الاجتماعي، مجلة علمية مرموقة تستعرض أبرز المبادرات الاجتماعية المبتكرة التي تساهم في تغيير العالم، وتستعرض المبادرات ذات الأثر الكبير حول العالم ، في المجالات التنموية الرئيسية التي تغطيها في قطاعات التعليم والصحة والبيئة والحياة.
وجاء اختيار المدرسة الرقمية ضمن ملف تختار فيه المنصة العالمية أفضل المبادرات على مستوى العالم في تحقيق العدالة في قطاعات الصحة والحياة والتعليم والبيئة، ضمن سلسلة عالمية تُنشر لأول مرة عبر منصاتها الناطقة بخمس لغات عالمية .
ونشرت ملفاً بعنوان “السعي العالمي لتحقيق الإنصاف”، ضمن شبكتها العالمية باللغات العربية، والصينية، والإسبانية، والبرتغالية والإنجليزية.
وتم نشر مقال المدرسة الرقمية في النسخة العربية من المنصة، بعنوان “المدرسة الرقمية: مبادرة إماراتية لتوفير تعليم عالي الجودة للطلاب في المنطقة”، كما صدر الموضوع بباقي اللغات المعتمدة في المنصة في النسخ الإنجليزية والبرازيلية والإسبانية والصينية.
جدير بالذكر ، أن “المدرسة الرقمية”، التي أطلقها صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي “رعاه الله” ، في نوفمبر 2020 ضمن مؤسسة مبادرات محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم العالمية، تعد أول مدرسة رقمية متكاملة من نوعها، وتهدف إلى تمكين الطلاب بخيارات التعلم الرقمي في المناطق التي لا تتوفر فيها الظروف الملائمة أو المقومات التي يحتاجها الطلاب لمتابعة تعليمهم، كما توفر خياراً نوعياً للتعلم المدمج و التعلم عن بُعد .
وتواصل المدرسة توسعها، حيث ضمت أكثر من 160 ألف طالب مستفيد وتقدم خدماتها في أكثر من 13 دولة، كما عملت على تدريب أكثر من 2500 معلم رقمي، فيما يتم توفير المحتوى التعليمي والتدريبي بعدة لغات بينها العربية والإنجليزية والفرنسية والإسبانية.
