The Digital School launches “Donate Your Device” to provide 10K recycled electronic devices to support students in less fortunate areas around the world.

The Digital School, one of Mohammed bin Rashid’s global initiatives, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, launched the “Donate Your Device” campaign under the slogan Donate to Learn, and aims to provide 10,000 used electronic devices that will be renewed and recycled after collecting them from individual donors and institutions, in an initiative Educational, humanitarian and environmental, aiming to support the educational process for less fortunate digital school students around the world.
The “Donate Your Device” campaign embodies the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” with the importance of promoting digital education applications and solutions, which represents the future of the education sector, and is consistent with the visions of His Highness and the objectives of the digital school to provide educational opportunities. Providing disadvantaged students around the world with the highest educational standards, through digital learning solutions. The campaign aims to support digital school students who face difficulties in obtaining electronic devices, by collecting devices from institutions and individuals keen to support this humanitarian idea and contribute to enabling students around the world to have access to education.
The campaign contributes to achieving a comprehensive vision for the future, through an innovative partnership in humanitarian and environmental work, as it combines humanitarian and technological initiatives to serve groups in need, and reflects the entities’ commitment to their social responsibility and their keenness to build a more solidaristic and sustainable society.
The digital school called on individuals and entities to participate in the initiative by donating used electronic devices, or financial donations, through official donation channels in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent, or through the campaign website https://www.donateyourowndevice.org, or by sending a short text message (SMS) to 2441 for Etisalat users or 3551 for Du users.
(Promoting human values and the spirit of giving)
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Digital School, confirmed that the “Donate to Learn” campaign “Donate Your Device” translates the directives of the wise leadership to promote human values and the spirit of giving to provide opportunities for the less fortunate groups. It also embodies the integration between the various sectors in the country to include individuals, institutions and private sector companies, in a joint national humanitarian initiative, to support the digital school’s efforts and goals by providing a digital learning experience for less fortunate students around the world. And enhancing the UAE’s efforts and initiatives in the Year of Sustainability.
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama said that the Digital School initiative by launching the campaign reflects its endeavor to reduce the digital and knowledge gap in the acquisition of information and its transmission among students around the world by providing electronic devices to students in need, in a way that supports efforts to provide learning opportunities for all, expand their scope, and enhance their access around the world.
His Excellency expressed his confidence in the success of the campaign in achieving its goals through community interaction and the participation of individuals, government agencies and private sector institutions, which reflects the value of giving inherent in the UAE society.
He praised the constructive cooperation between the digital school, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and e-Cyclex, in organizing the “Donate to Learn” campaign, stressing the importance of partnerships with institutions, individuals, and companies in supporting lofty national and humanitarian goals, achieving environmental sustainability, and confronting the challenge of electronic waste, which statistics indicate. The world produces about 50 million metric tons annually, equivalent to 800 laptop computers per second.
(Qualitative education despite the challenges)
For his part, His Excellency Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, Acting Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent, confirmed that the “Donate Your Device” campaign comes as an extension of the digital school initiatives that work in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent, to expand the scope of its work in many countries that are witnessing major challenges in the field of education. Technical, and providing educational opportunities for less fortunate students in those countries.
Al-Junaibi said that the Digital School Initiative is moving forward with solid and solid foundations to achieve its humanitarian and development aspirations in less fortunate communities, by attracting more partners and supporters by launching such campaigns, which enhance its efforts in creating a modern technical educational system that meets the needs of students in refugee camps and community groups. The most fragile ones, rely on information technology and artificial intelligence, and contribute to the continuation of their education process despite the challenges they face.
He stressed that the initiative has brought about a qualitative shift in the level of educational services directed to these segments, especially in countries that benefited from its programs in its previous stages. He said that the Emirates Red Crescent Authority will spare no effort in achieving the goals of the initiative and expanding the umbrella of beneficiaries of its educational and academic programs in many countries.
The launch of the campaign is part of the initiatives supporting the achievement of the goals of the Year of Sustainability in the UAE, through which the digital school works with the community to provide learning tools for students, by collecting used electronic devices from individuals and institutions and refurbishing them according to best practices and in partnership with institutions specialized in this field. The “Donate to Teach” campaign to donate your device will contribute to providing the digital infrastructure of computers, which represents the greatest challenges facing students in less fortunate communities in accessing learning platforms and digital content for the digital school.
The initiative contributes to developing innovative and sustainable solutions to support the school’s digital orientations and projects, by repurposing and refurbishing old equipment to serve efforts to develop future education solutions. In addition to its interest in the environmental aspect, the initiative supports efforts to enable less fortunate students to learn remotely with the latest technologies.
The campaign also supports efforts to achieve environmental sustainability and enhance the social responsibility of institutions and individuals, which supports the achievement of sustainable development goals, by reducing electronic waste, as millions of electronic devices are disposed of annually, which leads to the accumulation of waste that poses a threat to the environment and public health, and the campaign contributes to Providing an innovative solution to this challenge by collecting and refurbishing used electronic devices, in cooperation with the e-Cyclex company, which specializes in recycling and refurbishing electronic devices in environmentally safe ways.
The campaign seeks to involve the largest number of institutions in supporting students with electronic devices by providing surplus and old computers and electronic devices and allocating them to the digital school initiative, to be refurbished for use in educating less fortunate students around the world. Participating institutions will be granted a green contribution certificate in sustainability and recycling. Recycling from E-Cyclex and Reloop International.
(Empowering communities with digital learning solutions)

The digital school continues to expand, as it has included more than 60,000 students from 8 countries, including Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Mauritania, Lebanon, Colombia, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, and has trained more than 1,500 digital teachers, while educational and training content is provided in four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.

وتجسد حملة “تبرع بجهازك” توجهات صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي “رعاه الله”، بأهمية تعزيز تطبيقات وحلول التعليم الرقمي الذي يمثل مستقبل قطاع التعليم، وتنسجم مع رؤى سموه وأهداف المدرسة الرقمية لتوفير فرص التعليم للطلاب الأقل حظاً على مستوى العالم بأعلى المعايير التعليمية، من خلال حلول التعلم الرقمي. وتهدف الحملة إلى دعم طلبة المدرسة الرقمية الذين يواجهون صعوبات في الحصول على الأجهزة الإلكترونية، من خلال جمع الأجهزة من المؤسسات والأفراد الحريصين على دعم هذه الفكرة الإنسانية والمساهمة في تمكين الطلاب حول العالم من فرص الوصول إلى التعليم.
وتسهم الحملة في تحقيق رؤية شاملة للمستقبل، من خلال شراكة مبتكرة في العمل الإنساني والبيئي، حيث تجمع بين المبادرات الإنسانية والتكنولوجية لخدمة الفئات المحتاجة، وتعكس التزام الجهات بمسؤوليتها الاجتماعية وحرصها على بناء مجتمع أكثر تضامناً واستدامة.
ودعت المدرسة الرقمية الأفراد والجهات إلى المشاركة في المبادرة عبر التبرع بالأجهزة الإلكترونية المستعملة، أو التبرعات المالية، عبر قنوات التبرع الرسمية بالتعاون مع الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي أو عبر موقع الحملة https://www.donateyourowndevice.org أو بإرسال رسالة نصية قصيرة (SMS) إلى 2441 لمستخدمي اتصالات او 3551 لمستخدمي دو.
( تعزيز القيم الإنسانية وروح العطاء )
وأكد معالي عمر سلطان العلماء وزير دولة للذكاء الاصطناعي والاقتصاد الرقمي وتطبيقات العمل عن بعد، مدير عام مكتب رئاسة مجلس الوزراء، رئيس مجلس إدارة المدرسة الرقمية، أن حملة تبرع بجهازك “تبرع لتُعلّم” تترجم توجيهات القيادة الرشيدة بتعزيز القيم الإنسانية وروح العطاء لتوفير الفرص للفئات الأقل حظاً وتمكينها بأدوات العصر للنهوض بمجتمعاتها لتشارك بفعالية في ركب التطور والحضارة الإنسانية، كما تجسد التكامل بين مختلف القطاعات في الدولة لتشمل الأفراد والمؤسسات وشركات القطاع الخاص، في مبادرة وطنية إنسانية مشتركة، لدعم جهود المدرسة الرقمية وأهدافها بتوفير تجربة تعلم رقمي للطلاب الأقل حظاً حول العالم، وتعزيز جهود دولة الإمارات ومبادراتها في عام الاستدامة.
وقال معالي عمر سلطان العلماء إن مبادرة المدرسة الرقمية بإطلاق الحملة تعكس سعيها لتقليص الفجوة الرقمية والمعرفية في تحصيل المعلومة وانتقالها بين الطلاب حول العالم من خلال توفير أجهزة إلكترونية للطلاب المحتاجين، بما يدعم جهود توفير فرص التعلم للجميع وتوسيع نطاقها وتعزيز وصولها حول العالم.
وأعرب معاليه عن ثقته بنجاح الحملة في تحقيق أهدافها من خلال التفاعل المجتمعي ومشاركة الأفراد والجهات الحكومية ومؤسسات القطاع الخاص، ما يعكس قيمة العطاء المتأصلة في مجتمع دولة الإمارات.
وأشاد بالتعاون البناء بين المدرسة الرقمية وهيئة الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي وشركة “إي سايكلكس”، في تنظيم حملة “تبرع لتُعلّم”، مؤكداً أهمية الشراكات مع المؤسسات والأفراد والشركات في دعم الأهداف الوطنية والإنسانية السامية، وتحقيق الاستدامة البيئية ومواجهة تحدي النفايات الإلكترونية التي تشير الإحصاءات إلى أن العالم ينتج منها نحو 50 مليون طن متري سنويا، ما يعادل 800 جهاز كمبيوتر محمول في الثانية.
( تعليم نوعي رغم التحديات )
من جهته، أكد سعادة حمود عبد الله الجنيبي الأمين العام المكلف لهيئة الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي، أن حملة “تبرع بجهازك” تأتي امتدادا لمبادرات المدرسة الرقمية التي تعمل بالتعاون مع الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي، لتوسيع نطاق عملها في العديد من الدول التي تشهد تحديات كبيرة في مجال التعليم التقني، وإتاحة فرص التعليم للطلاب الأقل حظا في تلك الدول.
وقال الجنيبي إن مبادرة المدرسة الرقمية تمضي قدما بأسس راسخة ومتينة لتحقيق تطلعاتها الإنسانية والتنموية في المجتمعات الأقل حظا، من خلال استقطاب المزيد من الشركاء والداعمين عبر إطلاق مثل هذه الحملات، التي تعزز جهودها في إيجاد نظام تعليمي تقني حديث يلبي احتياجات الطلاب في مخيمات اللاجئين والفئات المجتمعية الأكثر هشاشة، ويعتمد على تكنلوجيا المعلومات والذكاء الاصطناعي، ويساهم في استمرار عملية تعليمهم رغم التحديات التي يواجهونها.
وأكد أن المبادرة أحدثت نقلة نوعية في مستوى الخدمات التعليمية الموجهة لهذه الشرائح، خاصة في الدول التي استفادت من برامجها في مراحلها السابقة، وقال إن هيئة الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي لن تدخر وسعا في سبيل تحقيق أهداف المبادرة وتوسيع مظلة المستفيدين من برامجها التعليمية والأكاديمية في العديد من الدول.
( حلول تعلم رقمي داعمة لاستدامة البيئة )
ويأتي إطلاق الحملة ضمن المبادرات الداعمة لتحقيق أهداف عام الاستدامة في دولة الإمارات، وتعمل المدرسة الرقمية من خلالها مع المجتمع على توفير أدوات التعلم للطلاب، من خلال جمع الأجهزة الإلكترونية المستعملة من الأفراد والمؤسسات وإعادة تجديدها وفق أفضل الممارسات وبالشراكة مع مؤسسات متخصصة في هذا المجال. وستسهم حملة تبرع بجهازك “تبرع لتُعلّم” في توفير البنية التحتية الرقمية من أجهزة الحاسوب، الأمر الذي يمثل أكبر التحديات التي تواجه الطلاب في المجتمعات الأقل حظا، في الوصول الى منصات التعلم والمحتوى الرقمي الخاص بالمدرسة الرقمية.
وتسهم المبادرة في تطوير حلول مبتكرة ومستدامة لدعم توجهات المدرسة الرقمية ومشاريعها، من خلال إعادة توظيف الأجهزة القديمة وتجديدها لخدمة جهود تطوير حلول التعليم المستقبلي، وإضافة إلى اهتمامها بالجانب البيئي، تدعم المبادرة جهود تمكين الطلاب الأقل حظا من التعلم عن بُعد بأحدث التقنيات.
كما تدعم الحملة الجهود لتحقيق الاستدامة البيئية وتعزيز المسؤولية الاجتماعية للمؤسسات والأفراد، ما يدعم تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، من خلال تقليل النفايات الإلكترونية، حيث يتم التخلص من ملايين الأجهزة الإلكترونية سنويا، ما يؤدي إلى تراكم نفايات تشكل خطرا على البيئة والصحة العامة، وتسهم الحملة في توفير حل مبتكر لهذا التحدي من خلال جمع وتجديد الأجهزة الإلكترونية المستعملة، بالتعاون مع شركة إي سايكلكس المتخصصة في إعادة تدوير وتجديد الأجهزة الإلكترونية بطرق آمنة بيئيا.
وتسعى الحملة إلى إشراك أكبر عدد من المؤسسات في دعم الطلاب بالأجهزة الإلكترونية من خلال توفير الفائض والقديم من أجهزة الحاسوب والأجهزة الإلكترونية وتخصيصها لمبادرة المدرسة الرقمية، ليتم إعادة تجديدها لاستخدامها في تعليم الطلبة الأقل حظا حول العالم، وسيتم منح المؤسسات المشاركة شهادة مساهمة خضراء في الاستدامة وإعادة التدوير من “إي سايكلكس” و”ريلوب” العالمية.
( تمكين المجتمعات بحلول التعلم الرقمي )
جدير بالذكر ، أن “المدرسة الرقمية”، التي أطلقها صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي “رعاه الله”، في نوفمبر 2020 ضمن مؤسسة مبادرات محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم العالمية، تعد أول مدرسة رقمية متكاملة من نوعها، وتهدف إلى تمكين الطلاب بخيارات التعلم الرقمي في المناطق التي لا تتوفر فيها الظروف الملائمة أو المقومات التي يحتاجها الطلاب لمتابعة تعليمهم، كما توفر خياراً نوعياً للتعلم المدمج و التعلم عن بُعد، بطريقة ذكية ومرنة، مستهدفة الفئات المجتمعية الأقل حظا واللاجئين والنازحين، عبر مواد ومناهج تعليمية عصرية.
وتتبنى المدرسة الرقمية نهجًا شاملاً للتحول الرقمي في التعليم، يقوم على توسيع الفرص التعليمية عبر خيارات التعلم الرقمي خاصة في المناطق النائية والنامية التي لا تتوفر فيها الظروف الملائمة للتعلم، وتواصل المدرسة الرقمية توسعها، حيث ضمت أكثر من 60 ألف طالب من 8 دول هي الأردن، ومصر، والعراق، وموريتانيا، ولبنان، وكولومبيا، وبنغلاديش، وأفغانستان، وعملت على تدريب أكثر من 1500 معلم رقمي، فيما يتم توفير المحتوى التعليمي والتدريبي بأربع لغات هي العربية والإنجليزية والفرنسية والإسبانية.
